Interface Engineering Promotes Arellano to Associate

George ArellanoSan Francisco, CA - George Arellano, PE, CPD joined Interface Engineering’s newest location in 2006 when the branch had only five people to fill the fledgling office. This new office, Interface’s second in Northern California, was successful from the start thanks to the highly skilled team assembled by Principals Hormoz Janssens and Joel Cruz. Mr. Arellano, who began his employment at Interface as Lead Mechanical Engineer, quickly asserted himself as a team leader. “George has played a vital role in establishing our San Francisco office. His leadership, technical knowledge and mentorship of our junior staff helped create a solid engineering foundation for us to build on for years to come. We are proud to have him a part of our management group in San Francisco,” comments Principal Joel Cruz. Interface San Francisco, now 15 employees strong, continues to grow. As an Associate, George will play a more prominent role in recruiting qualified individuals to move the branch into the next phase of its long range plan.

Mr. Arellano is a registered Professional Engineer and Certified in Plumbing Design. He applies his skill to a variety of project types including campus master plans, medical facilities and commercial properties. He’s currently serving as Project Manager for several Kaiser Medical Facility projects. George is also Lead Mechanical Engineer for the design of the new educational buildings for City College of San Francisco. The project has a goal of LEED© Gold and will incorporate sustainable design elements such as natural ventilation and radiant heating/cooling systems.

Interface Engineering is a 38-year-old, full-service firm distinguished by its breadth of specialty expertise and deep commitment to sustainable practices. With over 160 employees, Interface offers full-service mechanical, electrical and plumbing design services, along with specialty services in such areas as technologies design, lighting design, fire/life safety consulting, energy modeling, building commissioning and sustainable design.
