Commercial Engineering Projects
Office buildings come in all shapes and sizes, and have all different end users, each with their own requirements. And, each office project must be geared toward employee comfort, health and productivity - from lighting to HVAC, each system must be employed only after considering its impact on those two factors. Interface has designed hundreds of systems for corporate campuses, spec offices, tenant improvements, and company headquarters, both for new construction and for renovations/remodels. Because we are experienced in sustainable and energy efficient design, we are skilled in designing systems that will save in the long term both in energy consumption and maintenance costs,. For example, at the Oregon Department of Human Services, our team worked to design systems for an office in a building that had been a “big-box” retail store. The team incorporated skylights and under-floor air distribution systems into their design, making the big space comfortable and usable for the department's employees while incorporating significant energy efficiency measures. |
