This project consists of a remodel to the existing building and construction of a new building. The remodel to the existing historic building is minor with significant upgrades to the existing kitchen and egress connection points to the new building. The new building consists of a three-story, 15,500 SF structure with a basement. The facility will include three toddler classrooms and associated restrooms, two pre-school classrooms and associated restrooms, a multi-purpose meeting room, staff work rooms and conference rooms, a common area, and piazza. The mechanical and electrical areas will be located in the basement. The third floor will contain egress connection points to the existing building.
Interface is providing full mechanical (HVAC,
plumbing), electrical, lighting, low voltage
telecom services and performance criteria for
fire life safety systems appropriate for this
project. The HVAC system consists of split-system
fan coils with hot water heating, as well as
a heat recovery unit on the building exhaust
air. Natural ventilation shall be utilized
in central areas, with toddler classrooms containing
a below floor hydronic heating system.
Interface also provided energy modeling and
assisted in the SEED documentation process.
