Educational Engineering Projects

Salem-Keizer School District
Salem, OR
Interface is in the final year of a four-year
contract with the Salem-Keizer School District
to provide design services to upgrade the electrical
systems and data cabling throughout the district.
The district’s 1999 bond measure allocated
$10 million to upgrade system infrastructures
to accommodate increased computer usage demands.
Based upon our evaluation of electrical and
data systems in the district’s 58 schools,
we established an initial construction cost
estimate to correct the issues identified.
The combined efforts of Interface and the construction
management team have exceeded the expectations
of the district, and a significant amount of
money will be returned to the schools for other
worthwhile projects. Based upon our work
on this project, Interface has been awarded
the contract for the first phase of evaluating
and upgrading the fire alarm systems throughout
the district.
