Pueblo West Water/Water Treatment Plant

The plant expansion involved modifications
to an existing water plant to bring the plant
capacity from 10 MGD to a 20 MGD facility. The
existing plant controls were based on Intellution
Fix SCADA with a combination of Allen Bradley
and General Electric PLCs. As part of
this project, a new SCADA system was designed
to operate the new plant facilities associated
with the 10 MGD expansion and to upgrade and
replace the existing SCADA system. The
new SCADA system consisted of a Hot Standby
SCADA Servers/Workstations including a portable
SCADA Workstation that could be connected at
various points in the plant, and autodialer
software for operator notification of alarms
and critical conditions. The SCADA software
used is Intellution iFix.
