Thunder Valley Station Casino Water & Wastewater Treatment Facilities
Placer County, CA
The Thunder Valley Station Casino Water &
Wastewater Treatment Facilities were developed
as a design-build project to shorten the construction
phase and to allow the Casino facilities to
open to the public. Interface Engineering provided
electrical engineering solutions that automated
most of the plant processes using a Wonderware-based
SCADA system with Allen Bradley PLC-based controls
that help to minimize the staffing requirements
for operation of the facilities and that allow
for remote control and monitoring from the main
Casino or other remote sites. The power distribution
system was configured to allow for future expansion
of the facilities to accommodate commercial
growth of the area surrounding the casino. Interface
Engineering also provided the mechanical engineering
design services associated with the HVAC and
plumbing systems associated with the Operations
Building. Currently, the Thunder Valley Station
Casino has been a huge success and plans to
add a hotel and other commercial facilities
are under way. In keeping with this, Interface
is developing designs associated with phased
expansions of the water and wastewater facilities.
