Roseville Civic Center

Roseville Civic Center

Roseville, CA

Interface provided mechanical and electrical design for this project, completed in May of 2002.  The project involved the expansion of the Roseville Civic Center with a 54,447 SF addition and 17,457 SF remodel of existing space. Not only does the center provide a central location for all permit processing and bill paying for this community of 92,000 residents, it also serves as a gathering place for locals and visitors. Roseville InteriorThe design team, led by architectural firm Williams + Paddon, set about to meet the city's wish for a civic but restrained building, rich in character but modest in budget.  They used distinct architectural forms and historically significant building materials, primarily granite, to reflect the city's desire for a building that reflects the history of the area while accommodating present and future needs. The Roseville Civic Center project has served as a catalyst for revitalization of the central city urban core that had experienced a steady decline in use and vitality over the past 25 years.  While the “one-stop” permit center is designed to serve the business needs of the city, the block-wide plaza was designed to serve as the city’s “living room” for many years to come.
